Home Remedy for Warts

It is important to know that treatment of all warts are not the same.  If you have a wart on the finger, hand, foot, knee or general exposed are you can try home treatments for your wart.  If you have a wart in the genital area you need to consult a doctor for removal treatment.

Duct Tape - Believe it or not this is a very popular and very effective treatment of warts.  Doctors even recommend their patients try this first before coming to them for wart removal.  You cut a small piece of duct tape just large enough to fit around the wart and place it over the wart.  you leave this on for about a week.  At the end of a week remove the tape and soak your area in warm water for about 30 minutes and use a pumice stone or a rouch surface to rub off the excess dead skin.  Pat this area dry and reapply another piece of duct tape for another week and perform the same procedure.,  This can take a few months to resolve the wart but should work very well.  The irritation of the tape will cause your body to start attacking the area of the wart and start to kill the virus.

Salicylic Acid - This is extremely popular because all the over the counter treatments you can use contain this as their main active ingredient.  You need to apply this every day for several weeks.  It is best to apply to damp skin as the acid will go deeper into the skin.  Remove the dead skin every day with a stone.

Garlic Tablets - Try taking garlic tablets several times a day for several weeks.  The virus does not like garlic and your body will help rid the virus and wart.

Hydrogen Perixode - Many people have had luck removing warts with a high percent hydrogen peroxide such as a food grade of 35%.  You can not purchase this locally and a lot of caution needs to be taken when using this as it is an acid and burns the skin.  If you acquire some of this use a q-tip and dip into the peroxide and just dot onto the wart.  You will immediately see a white film.  This is the acid attacking the skin.  Do this two times daily and remove any dead skin daily with a stone.  You may notice some blackened areas after continued use.  This is the wart dying off.  Remember dot only onto the wart area.
